What's new on Lent 2014

Freitag

30. 05. 2014

The festival is approaching and the colourful happenings at the Drava river will start in 3 weeks!

With the resolution of the Slovenian government and the agreement between the Municipality of Maribor and the festival organiser, the 22. Lent Festival gained the status of an important cultural and social event and was ensured an additional co-financing of 154 000 EUR.

For now we still have to ensure some financial aid from our sponsors and donors and convince them with our diverse and colourful program.

BETTER IN 2014

We have prepared some novelties for you this year and we are sure you will like them.

LENTA STAYS THE SAME, DAY TICKETS WILL BE CHEAPER!

The most important information for our visitors is that we haven't increased the price of the festival ticket – during the presale, the Lenta will be available for 20 € and after that for 25 €. We have lowered the price of the Day ticket which is now on sale for 10 € (last year the price was 15 €). All additional tickets stay the same which means that they are available for 5 € and for 10 € for two of the most attractive events of this year's festival.

NEW/ OLD VENUE

Jazz and comedy events have moved to another location this year, a location where they have been before – to the Minoriti Stage. A new open-air auditorium was built there this year and our events will open this new/old location. The venue can host more visitors that the Old radio venue, so more people will be able to see the comedies and jazz concerts.
The entrance to the venue is from the Vojašniški Square, between the market place and the Minoriti church.

ENTERING THE VEČER STAGE WITH A LENTA

This year, we want to make the Večer stage a real concert venue. This means that you will only be able to enter the venue with a Lenta or Day ticket.
There are two events with additional fees: Skid Row (23.6.) and Piše se leto (24.6.). You can also buy a Two-day ticket for both events.

PIŠE SE LETO ON LENT

The cultic Styrian rock party, Piše se leto, will be a bit different this year. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 26th, just before the national holiday, and will rock the Večer Stage on Lent.

The concert has become a must-see for students and pupils at the end of the school year and thanks to the Lent team and the Piše se leto team we were able to make sure that this year will be no exception.

You need an additional ticket for this event or you can buy a Two-day ticket that includes the Skid Row concert on the day before (June 23rd).

DANCE FLOOR NEXT TO THE CENTRAL STAGE

We were able to fulfil the wishes of all of you who enjoy to dance and move during the concerts, but were not able to do so on the grandstands. This year our technicians have built a dance floor next to the floating stage in front of the grandstands on the eastern side for all those who like to move it-move it.

AFTER LENT

For all visitors, who are not in a hurry to get home after the concerts, there will be an After Lent each night on the Minoriti Stage where you will experience extraordinary DJs at work. To enter the after party, you will need a Lenta or Day ticket, but you will also be able to buy a ticket at the venue which is also valid for the Mladina Stage in the Jazz club Satchmo.

FOLKART

Folkart fans can see two events on the Central Stage, each for only 5 € (June 25th and June 26th). These events can also be attended with a Lenta or Day ticket. This two folklore evenings are scheduled for 21:00 - this way more children and elderly people will be able to see the performances.

PUPPET SHOWS AND THEATRE FOR CHILDREN

Besides the Art Camp venue in the park, you can take your children to the courtyard of the Vetrinjski dvor Mansion where you can all enjoy puppet and theatre shows for children each day at 18:00. The events are free.
