Tinkara Kovač is Slovenia’s most popular and celebrated young female pop-rock singer/songwriter. Born in 1978, she has a degree in classical flute and speaks seven languages. Signing her first record deal in 1997, she delivered a certified gold album right at the start. She continued releasing outstanding material and received the highest awards in Slovenia and abroad. In 1999 her second album went gold and platinum. With her third album she further expanded her role as an original and ingenious songwriter. During her career Tinkara worked and recorded with Carlos Nunez, Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull, Mike Peters of The Alarm, Dan Lavery of Tonic, Italian songwriting legend Massimo Bubola and top blues guitar virtuoso Tolo Marton, and many others. This year she was representing Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen with her song “Round and Round”.
