When the magnificent MI HA ISH psalm was devised in 11th century, the great rabbi offered it to the world saying: “Let this psalm be found by one whose heart is filled with sadness. Let this song comfort him and offers him new hope in these times of hardship…”

Even today MI HA ISH continues to look for a man, the real man; while the man bereft of hope is searching for MI HA ISH, a psalm about friendship and mutual trust, for we are living in genuine hardship.
According to the word, King David, thinker, warrior and poet, was visited in his dreams by the Almighty, whom David trusted and believed in, telling him to build an imposing temple that would dazzle the world with its beauty. King David summoned his people and before long the temple was erected to everyone’s pride and joy. However, some other nation, representatives of another culture, arrived in the belief that their way was the only true one. Their soldiers tore down the temple and enslaved David’s people. Out of the sorrow of the people who lost their most prised, their holiest possession, emerged the finest melodies, from melodies the finest songs and poetry, from songs the finest stories and tales, from tales anecdotes, and all words written and uttered gave rise to wisdom and witty jokes. It has been written down. Man lives to drink, eat and be merry.
